1. Public Hearing to receive citizen input on a proposed amendment to the South Windsor Code of Ordinances, Ordinance #83, Article IV. Advisory Council, Section 26-101.
PUblic Hearing began 7:15 p.m. Anwar - Advisory Council is not going to be the hands on of the involvement - Advisory Council consists of residents and the proposal is to increase the residents from 3 to 7. As a community we are blessed with community that is educated and need to have a way of looking at people with special needs. Opporyunity to enhance capacity - advisory committee and will not take over responsibilities of those that are trainied. 14 people in audience Any public - Michael Sullivan - 3 members of the public - requirement that the chairman is resident. Anwar - the number will change from 3 to 7 and the chaairan will stillb e member of the public Michael Sullivan - no effort has been made to include the public up to this point. Why has this not been done before - how is increasing the number to 7 make more action happen. why now? how will it be a benefit to the community? Reed - I appreciate any opportuity to speak about civil preparedness. in years past the Town has not met its full requirement here. we have people who are point people for certain items and feel it is appropriate to be modified at a later date. This amendment may be too little - in favor of having more changes done on this ordinance to outline responsibilities. Should get together and make larger changes to emergency management ordinance Those in favor - -0 Those opposed -0 public hearing closed at 7:22 p.m.
