A. Information Technologies Budget

John Marchesseault came forward to speak regarding IT budget. budget is based on maintaining reliable system for the Town. Dept. operates 24/7. 178 desk top, 62 local computer, 52 printers, 54 servers, 24---- . support police, 2 south windsor schools and 2 police faciliites outside of police dept. Recreation - installled and maintained system, senior newsletter by - created new website for SWAN, Police Dept. CAD upgrade, 20 mobile data terminals. Communications data link - expanded GIS with TEM, beside addressing 2400 callls approximately. local access channel, facebook, twitter, 10 new shows for public service announcements,

McCann - professional account - 12,200 for granicus, there was nothing budgeted for 2010. John - purchased, contracted,

reconved at 7:52 p.m. Prague - GIS system - what has been the savings over the last 5 years, where do we save money? John - ability to produce the maps - Prague - 50,000 capitall projects - GIS - why is that not in regular budget? John - do not know. Pelkey - because GIS mapping was put in capital projects because it is over 50,000. without 50,000 licensing can't use system. Delnicki - how many full time people work on GIs? John - 1 GIS Technician. have 6 people that use on regular basis. Delnicki - one full time person - 2 to 3 people that work on it. Pelkey - one part is building the data base and then the other is to use the data base. expensive part of system is putting the information into the system. John - anyone who wants to get into the system can use it. Pelkey - John - do not have good grasp on how many emplolyees use.
