Resolution Approving the Nondiscrimination Certification Agreements and Warranties under Connecticut General Statutes §4a-60 and §4a-60a, as Amended (Councilor Hockenberrv) BE IT RESOLVED that the Town of South Windsor hereby complies with nondiscrimination agreements and warranties under Connecticut General Statutes §4a-60 and §4a-60a, as amended.
Resolution Approving a Reverse 911 Notification (Everbridge) to South Windsor Voters (Councilor Rilev) WHEREAS, there have been concerns voiced regarding South Windsor voters not knowing where their voting location will be held due to the relocation of District 4 from Philip R. Smith Elementary School to the Charles Enes Community Center; and WHEREAS, it is being proposed to use the Reverse 911 Notification System (Everbridge) to inform all residents where their voting location will be for the November 5, 2019, Municipal Election; and WHEREAS, a Reverse 911 Notification (Everbridge) to the entire community is a good way to test the emergency management system NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the South Windsor Town Council hereby approves the following notification to be sent out on November 4, 2019: Message for Municipal Elections: Tomorrow, November 5th, the Town of South Windsor will be holding Municipal Elections. The polls will open at 6 AM and close at 8 PM. District (insert # here) votes at (insert location here). There will be same day voter registration held in the Town Hall at 1540 Sullivan Avenue. Resolution Approving an Agreement Between the Town of South Windsor and UPSEU Local 424, Unit 65 - Municipal Employees (Councilor Lopez) BE IT RESOLVED that the South Windsor Town Council hereby approves the proposed "Agreement Between the Town of South Windsor and UPSEU Local 424, Unit 65-Municipal Employees for the period July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2022.
Resolution Approving an Annual Salary for Deborah W. Reid, Clerk of the Council for Fiscal Year 2019/2020 (Deputy Mayor Pendleton) WHEREAS, An evaluation was completed by the Personnel Committee and a report was submitted to the Town Council for their input NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the South Windsor Town Council hereby approves a base salary adjustment of $2,000 and an annual salary increase of 2% for Fiscal Year 2019/2020 for Deborah W. Reid, Clerk of the Council, said annual salary rate to be retroactive from July 1, 2019.
Resolution Approving a Refund of Taxes to One Hundred and Thirty-Seven (137) South Windsor Taxpayers (Councilor Lydecker) BE IT RESOLVED that the South Windsor Town Council hereby approves a refund of property taxes to one hundred and thirty-seven (137) South Windsor Taxpayers, the total of said refunds being $24,043.55 and as more fully described on attached Exhibit A.
Resolution Appointing Members to South Windsor's 175th Anniversary Committee (Mayor Paterna and Councilor Snyder) WHEREAS, at the September 3, 2019, Town Council meeting, the Town Council approved to establish a 175th Anniversary Committee to develop, plan, host new programs, and endorse community events that will recognize, commemorate, and celebrate the founding of South Windsor; and WHEREAS, it was the decision of the Town Council to have Mayor Paterna and Councilor Snyder meet to appoint the Chair (Brianna Dillman) and two Honorary Chairs (Edward Havens, Sr. (D) and Elizabeth Warren (R)); and WHEREAS, Mayor Paterna and Councilor Snyder were also requested to recommend to the Council the make-up of the members of the Committee and the Council would ratify those recommendations NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the South Windsor Town Council hereby appoints the following members to the 175th Anniversary Committee: • Brenda Koboski (U) • Natalie O'Brien (U) • Joshua Johnson (D) • Gavin Zhu (D) • Anne King (R) • Madu Reddy (R)
Resolution Approving the Creation of an Advisory Committee (Temporary) Regarding Services for Persons with Disabilities (Mayor Paterna) WHEREAS, the South Windsor Town Council cares for all of its citizens and would like to make sure everyone's needs are met NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the South Windsor Town Council hereby approves the creation of a Temporary Advisory Committee Regarding Services for Persons with Disabilities, whose charge will be to advise the Town Manager (or designee), who will act as the Chair of the Committee, and Town departments with information regarding compliance with ADA requirements and to further their understanding of the concerns of persons with disabilities using Town facilities; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Committee members will also serve as a resource to the South Windsor community and address accessibility, equal rights, removing barriers, and promoting opportunities for individuals with disabilities; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the Committee will meet quarterly and be made up of nine (9) South Windsor residents who volunteer to be part of this Committee, as well as the Town Manager (or designee). These individuals who volunteer their time will have knowledge, skills, and/or experience with ADA related issues.
Resolution Adopting the Proposed Amendment to Ordinance #225 - South Windsor Volunteer Fire Tax Abatement Ordinance (Councilor Delnicki) BE IT RESOLVED that the South Windsor Town Council hereby adopts the proposed Amendment to Ordinance #225 - South Windsor Volunteer Fire Tax Abatement Ordinance, as shown in attached Exhibit C.
